On Sunday evening, Belgian police asked citizens not to tweet about the armed operations that were being carried out around the country – presumably to keep the suspects in the dark.
Most citizens abided, however they also responded creatively. Very creatively, as much as a nine-fold of creativity: with tons and tons of cat (and the occasional dog) pictures.
Cat pictures have inundated the hashtag #BrusselsLockDown, in a successful attempt to shed fear and provoke smirks. Supposedly to make it harder for suspects to uncover information about anti-terrorist measures too.
