In order to clamp down on aggressive tax competition, the European Parliament demands transparent corporate taxation and a better coordination among EU countries. MEPs want sanctions imposed on multinational companies that fail to file their country-by-country report.
World leaders meet in Paris from 30 November to 11 December, under the UN, to discuss the post-Kyoto II agreement for reducing global emissions after 2020. Their aim is to convince as many countries as possible to take part in the agreement which will be decided on 2015 and implemented by 2020.
"Member states have yet again failed to make tough decisions and provide a compassionate response to the refugee crisis", said the Chair of the European Parliament's Committee responsible for migration and asylum, Claude Moraes.
